THE thyroidectomy is indicated in some cases as treatment of hyperthyroidism, goiter, cancer of thyroid, nodules or cysts suspects.

Thyroidectomy is the removal of part of the thyroid (partial thyroidectomy) or complete thyroid (total thyroidectomy).

It is indicated when there is compression of organs in the region of the neck, suspected malignancy in thyroid nodules, presence of tracheal deviation as a consequence of some goiter or in the cases of hypertrophy of the gland.
