Does AIDS have a cure?

Expert answer:

AIDS There is no cure., as there is still no treatment capable of completely eliminating the HIV virus from the body. Currently, the available treatments are able to delay the manifestation of the disease, optimize the quality of life and significantly improve patient survival.

AIDS is caused by HIV virus (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), which attacks the T-CD4 lymphocytes, cells responsible for the defense of the body, better known as white blood cells.

The antiviral drugs are very effective and can eliminate much of the virus present in the circulation of HIV-positive individuals, to the extent that the blood test indicates "undetectable viral load" and keeps the disease in control.

Many studies have been done to discover the cure for AIDS, and with the spread of new technologies, hopes are mounting.
