Endocrine disorders can also cause bleeding during ovulation due to an abnormal stimulation of hormones in the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium) to be confused with menstruation (dysfunctional ovulatory uterine bleeding). In this situation if the woman has sexual intercourse she can become pregnant. Other disorders such as infections, endometriosis and tumors can also cause vaginal bleeding and be confused with menstruation.
