The woman who had surgery on the breasts to put silicone on can breastfeed normally. The stimulus to produce milk happens with the baby sucking, that is, the more the breast is offered, the more the baby sucks the breasts, the more milk will be produced.
In some exceptional cases where the surgery has been cut in the areola (breast nipple) there may be decrease or loss of sensitivity and hinder the initiation of breastfeeding. In such cases, the woman should discuss with the pediatrician to guide the best way to breastfeed.
