Anembryonic Pregnancy is the one in which not the presence of embryo and therefore the gestational sac is found empty.
This means that the woman's egg was fertilized by the spermatozoid, but no embryo has developed within the gestational sac structure.

In some cases, the woman may not have any specific symptoms other than the symptoms of early pregnancy. In other cases, the woman may have symptoms such as:
- Pain in the lower abdomen;
- Vaginal bleeding;
- Menstrual delay.
In general, anembryonic pregnancy results in spontaneous abortion, in other situations it will be necessary to carry out curettage or uterine aspiration for withdrawal of pregnancy.
After identification of the anembryonic pregnancy by ultrasonography, the woman must bring the result to the doctor in which she is performing the prenatal care, so that the professional can give the appropriate guidelines in each case.
