Fever and pain in the foot of the belly and in the stomach ...

Hello, I have a navel piercing 10 years ago and today I noticed that it is red and sore, as if it were inflamed. In the last two days I had fever and pain in the foot of the belly and in the stomach, a constipation that lasted 2 weeks, ending today with yellowish stools with plenty of live blood. I took Dipirone that lowered the fever but did not relieve the other symptoms. What should I do?
Expert answer:

Fever and pain in the foot of the belly and in the stomach can be symptoms of:

  • Appendicitis: The pain begins diffusely around the navel and increases, then goes to the foot of the belly, more to the right side. Causes abdominal pain, fever and vomiting and needs to be treated urgently;
  • Gastroenteritis: In this case, the fever and pains in the foot of the belly are also accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea;
  • Diverticulitis: In most cases, it causes fever and a pain in the foot of the belly, more located in the left side, in people over 60 years;
  • Stones in the gallbladder: Abdominal pain occurs due to obstruction of the gallbladder by one or more stones. If the obstruction is prolonged, the gallbladder may become inflamed, causing, in addition to pain, fever and vomiting.

In their specific case, the yellowish stools may indicate a liver problem, since the lack of bile in the stool may leave them yellow.

The stones in the gallbladder are a hypothesis, but it is best to seek a general practitioner or family doctor as soon as possible so that the origin of your symptoms is diagnosed and treated.
