The normal pressure should not exceed 14 by 9 (some think that the maximum values should be 12 by 8), any value above that is considered high. In elderly patients due to hardening of the arteries we may even consider values of blood pressure to be somewhat higher than normal, but each case should be evaluated in isolation.
