In case of a suspected infarction, the first thing to do is go to the nearest hospital or call an ambulance through number 192, as a matter of urgency. While waiting for help, it is important to:

  • Do not make any kind of effort;
  • Loosen the clothes;
  • Take 2 tablets of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA, aspirin);
  • Do not drink anything or take painkillers.

If you have to give person with suspected heart attack and she isunconscious, without breathing and without circulation, an ambulance should be called immediately and cardiac massage until the specialized aid arrives.

How to Do Heart Massage in Case of Infarction

  1. Using your own body weight, perform 15 strong, rhythmic cardiac understandings, sinking the victim's chest about 5 cm, 80 to 100 times per minute.
  2. Do 2 mouth-to-mouth breaths every 15 massages;
  3. Repeat the procedure until relief comes or the person returns to consciousness.

Symptoms of Infarction

  • Severe chest pain that lasts for more than 20 minutes and radiates to the left arm, back, jaw or right arm (rarer);
  • Shortness of breath;
  • Excessive sweating;
  • Pallor;
  • Change in heart rate.

The sooner the victim receives proper treatment, the lower the damage to the heart muscle.
