Does my grandfather have pains and numbness in his hands?

Hi ... my grandfather has felt strong pains and numbness in his hands ... his doctor prescribed a medicine, but despite having been doing a lot of medication with him, there was no difference ... and the exams are (according to the doctor) good ... what can it be?
