In cases where the person has a history of seizure up to 2 years of age, usually associated with episodes of fever and not characteristic of epilepsy, it can donate blood.

Ordinance No. 1353 of 2011 of the Ministry of Health (Brazilian law governing hemotherapy) changed the previous criterion that decreed that who had seizures or epilepsy in childhood was not able to donate blood.
