In general, folliculitis resolve spontaneously without the need for specific treatment. However, some measures can relieve pain and discomfort as:
- Warm compresses at the site of inflammation;
- Avoid hair removal and scraping of the hairs.
If folliculitis is persistent, the use of ointments containing antibiotics or drainage for elimination of pus may be indicated.
