There is no specific surgery for compliant hymen. The surgery, called hymenotomy, consists of the opening or removal of the membrane and is indicated mainly for those who have imperforate hymen, since the lack of opening in the hymen obstructs the menstrual flow.
The compliant hymen is defined as a more elastic, which allows the passage of the penis during penetration and so it takes longer to break.
There is no proper surgical indication for compliant hymen, but some women may feel pain or discomfort during the sexual act.
If so, seek medical advice. gynecologist to identify your type of hymen and to assess whether or not there is a need for a hymenotomy.
Even the other types of hymen (cribiform, septate, microperforated) may show variations in their openings and partially obstruct menstruation, besides causing discomfort sexual intercourse, the use of vaginal creams or the use of tampons.
In these cases, surgery is also indicated to remove the central portion of the membrane.
Teenagers with imperforate hymen may have pain in the lower abdomen or back, difficulty urinating, and pain to defecate.
When the condition does not cause symptoms, the hymenotomy should be postponed until the girl has her genital organ better developed.
