Taking a smaller break (fewer days) is risky?

Good morning, I use contraceptive on a continuous basis. I had a regular break, but on the third day of menstruation, I started another card to cut the blood, because I had to do a pool activity. Does this cut off the effect of contraception by changing the cycle? Is it necessary to use a condom until I menstruate again?
