Three are the main causes of this type of problem: injury to the nerves or circulation problems or emotional problems. There are many other causes but are much less common. Nerve damage can be any type of traumatic or inflammatory injury (repetitive strain injury, although I do not think that term is used anymore, neck problems in the neck ...). Circulation problems are more common in women and the elderly, in winter it can affect anyone (in cold regions such as in southern Brazil). Emotional problems I refer to stress, nervousness, anxiety, depression, panic syndrome ... all this and a little more can cause numb hands.
