How to identify and treat chalazion?

Expert answer:

Calazio it's the swelling of the eyelid due to the inflammation in sebaceous glands region.

The person identifies calázio through the perception of a swelling of the eyelid. It usually occurs in one of the eyelids and the person notices a larger swelling in a specific part of the eyelid, and there may be a painful spot.

The sebaceous glands present in the eyelid can inflame and obstruct the discharge of secretions, thus forming swelling.

The calyx may be confused with the terçol (hordeolum), but the tendon is usually painful and has a central reddish point on the edge of the eyelid.

Calazia tends to disappear on its own, but can be treated with warm compresses, use of ointment with antibiotic or with surgical removal.
